Good news for Vodafone-Idea users! The company has quietly launched its 5G service in specific areas of Delhi and Pune. Although there’s no official announcement from Vodafone Idea yet, this information is available on their official website. If you have a 5G-ready SIM, you can now experience high-speed internet in these locations.
During the seventh edition of the Indian Mobile Congress, Kumar Mangalam Birla, the promoter of Vodafone Idea, mentioned that the company worked extensively on the core network for the 5G launch last year. In the upcoming quarter, Vodafone Idea plans to officially introduce 5G and is expected to make significant investments in this initiative.

Facing a decline in user numbers, Vodafone Idea has been working hard to retain its customer base, especially since it couldn’t roll out 5G services as quickly as competitors like Airtel and Jio. According to TRAI data in July 2023, Vodafone Idea had 228 million subscribers, with an average revenue of Rs 142 per user in the quarter ending September. In comparison, industry leader Airtel had an average revenue of Rs 203 per user.

To showcase its commitment to technological advancements, Vodafone Idea presented various solutions during the IMC 2023 event, including IoT, 5G, Cloud, and more. These solutions, such as Vi C-DOT IoT Lab, Smart Connectivity Test Bed, Vi AirFiber, Vi Games, Cloud Play, VR Games, and XR Edutech, are largely built on the 5G network.
