As part of their makeover, Air India is also rolling out new uniforms for their cabin crew and pilots. These snazzy new outfits have been designed by a well-known fashion designer, Manish Malhotra.

Commencement of Services: The commercial operations of this Airbus A350 are scheduled to commence in January 2024. Initially, the aircraft will be deployed for domestic flights, allowing the crew to acclimate to its operations.

3. Aircraft Specifications and Interior Setup:

Seating Configuration: The Airbus A350-900 boasts a three-class cabin setup with a total of 316 seats.

Class Segmentation: Within this configuration, it accommodates 28 private business class suites, 24 premium economy seats, and 264 economy class seats.

Entertainment System: All seats are equipped with the latest Panasonic eX3 in-flight entertainment system, featuring high-definition screens for passenger enjoyment.

4. Future Deliveries and Expansion Plans:

Additional Orders: Air India has placed orders for a total of 20 Airbus A350-900 aircraft. Following this initial delivery, the airline anticipates receiving five more planes by March 2024.

5. Post-Arrival Requirements and Operational Preparations:

Regulatory Processes: Despite taking delivery of the aircraft, there are several post-arrival regulatory procedures to be completed. This includes customs clearance, various checks by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on the equipment, and a series of ground tests and proving flights.

Pilot Familiarization and Training: Before launching longer flights, the airline plans to operate shorter sectors for a few months. This period will facilitate pilot familiarization under the guidance of experienced instructors. The aim is to establish a sufficient pool of proficient pilots for the A350’s extended operations.
