A staggering 96.88 crore voters have registered to exercise their franchise, indicating a significant participation in the democratic process.

Increase in Voter Registration:

There has been a substantial increase of 6 percent in the overall voter registration since the last general elections held in 2019, showcasing a growing awareness and participation among citizens.

The voter registration surge highlights a positive trend towards active civic engagement and responsibility among the populace.

Electoral Rolls Publication and Delimitation Process:

The ECI has published the electoral rolls across all states and Union Territories, with January 1, 2024, as the qualifying date.

Notably, the revision of electorates includes Jammu and Kashmir and Assam, where new constituencies have been carved out through the delimitation process, ensuring fair representation and effective electoral administration.

Gender Ratio Improvement:

Encouragingly, the gender ratio has witnessed an improvement from 940 in 2023 to 948 in 2024, reflecting enhanced gender inclusivity and participation in the electoral process.

The emphasis on achieving a balanced gender representation signifies a significant step towards ensuring equal political representation and empowerment.

Inclusive Electoral Rolls:

The ECI has prioritized the purity and health of the electoral roll, emphasizing transparency and disclosures in the revision process.

Special efforts have been made to achieve 100 percent registration of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG), ensuring inclusivity and representation of marginalized communities.

These endeavours aim to make the electoral rolls the most comprehensive and inclusive to date, fostering a democratic process that truly represents the diversity and plurality of the nation.
