Sudarshan Setu boasts a unique design, featuring a footpath adorned with verses from the Bhagavad Gita and images of Lord Krishna, adding cultural and aesthetic value to the infrastructure.

Additionally, the bridge incorporates solar panels, generating one megawatt of electricity, showcasing a blend of modern engineering and sustainable energy solutions.

Construction Details and Significance:

The construction of the 2.32 km-long bridge, costing Rs 979 crore, holds immense significance for the local residents and pilgrims frequenting the Dwarkadhish Temple.

With a width of 27.20 meters and 2.50-meter-wide footpaths on both sides, the bridge aims to enhance connectivity and facilitate smoother travel experiences for commuters.

Purpose and Impact:

Beyt Dwarka, located approximately 30 km from Dwarka town, is a prominent destination visited by pilgrims seeking blessings at the Dwarkadhish Temple.

The Sudarshan Setu, earlier known as the ‘Signature Bridge,’ serves as a vital infrastructure link, replacing the reliance on boat transport and providing all-weather road connectivity to Beyt Dwarka.

Prime Minister’s Remarks and Initiatives:

Ahead of the inauguration, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the significance of the Sudarshan Setu in enhancing connectivity and fostering Gujarat’s growth trajectory.

The bridge aligns with the government’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ and is expected to contribute to tourism development, time-saving travel, and improved access to healthcare facilities.

Associated Projects and Developments:

In addition to inaugurating Sudarshan Setu, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to unveil various projects across Jamnagar, Devbhumi Dwarka, and Porbandar districts, including railway line electrification and offshore pipelines under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

Furthermore, he will inaugurate five All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) campuses across different states, emphasizing the government’s commitment to enhancing healthcare infrastructure nationwide.

Technical Details of the Bridge:

Sudarshan Setu, also known as Signature Bridge, is a sea-link spanning 4,772 meters, featuring a 900-meter-long cable-stayed section, making it Gujarat’s first sea-link infrastructure.

Supported by 32 piers and adorned with verses from the Bhagavad Gita and images of Lord Krishna, the bridge’s walkways and solar panels contribute to its architectural and functional excellence.
