All about Yamaha Corporation
It is the Japanese conglomerate dealing with wide range of products and services predominantly musical instrument, and electronics and power sports equipment. It is the world’s largest piano maker.
The former motorcycle company became independent from the Yamaha corporation in 1955 and became Yamaha Motor Co ltd., although Yamaha corporation remnants its largest shareholder.
What is its history?
Yamaha corporation was established in 1887 as a piano and reed organ manufacturer and was incorporated on October 12,1897.
After world war 2, the president of Yamaha corporation, Genichi Kawakami repurposed the remains of the company’s war time production machinery and the company’s metallurgical technologies to the production of motorcycles. Yamaha purchased the sequential circuits in 1988, it acquired the 51 percent stake in the company called Korg.
