Positive Growth in Total Sales: Maruti Suzuki, a popular car manufacturer, saw a 3.39% increase in total sales in November 2023 compared to the same period last year. They sold a total of 1,64,439 units of vehicles this November, up from 1,59,044 units in November 2022.

Domestic Sales Overview: Within the country, Maruti Suzuki sold 1,41,489 vehicles last month compared to 1,39,306 units in the previous year, marking a 1.57% growth. This includes sales of passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, and third-party supplies.

Overall domestic sales of passenger vehicles were at 1,34,158 units in November 2023, showing a modest growth of 1.33% from November 2022.

There was a decrease in sales of smaller entry-level cars like the Alto and S-Presso, which went from 18,251 units last year to 9,959 units this year.

Sales of compact cars, including models like Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, Tour S, and WagonR, also dropped from 72,844 units last year to 64,679 units this November.

Upsurge in Utility Vehicles: However, sales of utility vehicles surged this November. Models such as Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, S-Cross, and XL6 collectively sold 49,016 units this year, up from 32,563 units in November 2022.

Performance of Other Models: The mid-sized sedan Ciaz experienced a decline in sales, dropping from 1,554 units last year to 278 units this November. On the other hand, sales of the van Eeco rose from 7,183 units to 10,226 units during the same period.

Exports Increase: Maruti Suzuki’s exports also saw a positive trend, with 22,950 units exported in November 2023, a rise from 19,738 units in November 2022.

Takeaway: While there was a mixed performance across different car models, the overall sales of Maruti Suzuki vehicles in November 2023 showed a slight improvement compared to the same month last year.
